Oy guys, back in 2021 Realme launched their next-gen smartphone, the Realme 8 — now available in a 5G variant in Indonesia. It offers well-balanced specs, a large and sharp display, strong multitasking performance, and a reliable camera.
The Realme 8 5G features a Full HD+ IPS display with a Dimensity 700 processor, UFS 2.1 internal storage (learn about UFS here), a solid 50MP main camera, and a 16MP selfie camera.
Speaking of cameras — in the Android community, a camera app with “magical” algorithms has long been known to boost photo quality significantly.
It’s called Google Camera or GCam — and luckily, there are several versions that are compatible with the Realme 8 5G.
Realme 8 5G Specifications
Make sure we’re talking about the same phone, guys.
As mentioned, the Realme 8 5G offers balanced specs. It has a punch-hole selfie camera on the top-left of the screen, paired with a clean, minimal paint job design.
It features a 6.5-inch IPS screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, along with a 16MP selfie camera.

GCam for Realme 8 5G
For those unfamiliar — GCam or Google Camera Mod comes in many versions created by modders. Not all versions are compatible with every phone model, so choose carefully.
Luckily, there are several GCam variants that are compatible with the Realme 8 5G. Keep in mind these are APK files — install them like any third-party APK by enabling unknown sources.
APK sources are directly from the main GCam hub: celsoazevedo.com. For instructions on how to install config files, check this guide.
Once installed — fire up the app, snap some shots, and compare it to the stock camera results!
If GCam is no longer working, feel free to comment below and include your firmware version.
